Vampire Princess Miyu is a gothic horror anime about a girl named Miyu, whose destiny is to hunt down Shinma (Demons), and help return them to the dark where they belong. A spiritualist, Himiko, uses her powers to spread evil around the world. Himiko receives a call to perform an exorcism on a young priness, whose hidden past throws a frightening twist into the story. In the meantime, the city is being haunted with a bunch of vampire attacks. Miyu is pursued by Himiko, who is determined to find out who Miyu is and stop her from sucking the blood of humans.

Evil Shinma are on a mission to unleash their darkness upon the human race on Earth. Miyu was born a Japanese vampire, she was awakened as the chosen one, the Royal Princess of the dark, Miyu. Before she turned 15 years old, she has a strong longing to return to the darkness herself but only when she has banished the stray Shinma from Earth, for she has the power to offer humans the gift of eternal happiness, but is also trapped between both worlds but destined to have everlasting loneliness. Since her awakening she still remains clueless by the facts of who she is and what she is.
Miyu only has one companion who is her guardian for life, Larva, who was once an evil Shinma. They both share a journey together on an endless quest through the weakness of human hearts and tragic loss of innocent humans.
