           Ichigo Momomiya goes to an endangered species exhibit with her crush, Masaya Aoyama. She’s then zapped by a mysterious ray that switches her DNA with an endangered wildcat. The next day, she noticed that she’s been acting like a cat and saying cat puns, and also the ability to transform into Mew Ichigo. Four other girls also had their DNAs switches with other endangered animals. Now all five girls are part of a project called “Mew Project”. Their mission is to protect the planet from aliens.
